Oregon libraries receive 47 book challenges

Jackson County library branches don't report complaints about materials, according to Ronnie Budge, head librarian. There were about 6 challenges that led to one removal in 2000-1. 47 challenges in Oregon for 2000-1 were reported in the 14th annual report of the Oregon Intellectual Freedom Clearinghouse, released in time for Banned Books Week.
