In this opinion piece by Bruce A. Moon, the author makes a statement that if we honor the freedom of expression then the places where this freedom is carried out must be held sacred. Moon says that it is only by crossing the borders of what is appropriate that art and literature grow. He then makes the point that just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as is obscenity in the beholders heart. Moon says that if as a society we allow this violation of our libraries then we have defiled the trust that was entrusted to us by our forefathers.
