Indecent literature sale case dismissed

3 April 1957

Jack St. Clair was on trial because he, as a literature distributor, was indicted by a grand jury for providing indecent literature. The book which he was in trouble over is called "A Dame Called Murder." After the jury ruled 9-3 that he should be acquitted, resulting in a hung jury, the state district attorney's office decided to dismiss the trial.
