Censorship a key part of the OCA's strategy

9 June 1992

The Oregon Citizens Alliance requested the removal of two children’s books from local libraries after Springfield residents passed an anti-gay rights measure. These books, “Heather has two Mommies” and “Daddy’s Roommate,” are not currently available at the Springfield Public Library. Opponents of the measure are concerned about the censorship of library collections and the threat to our freedom of speech. The OCA has also tried to censor “pro-homosexual” news stories with boycotts of the Oregonian and Statesman-Journal.
