This thesis represents an effort to classify a possible disorder, or multiple disorders, that individuals who hoard animals may have. The phenomenon of animal hoarding will be explored by first reviewing the literature that has been published on the topic to date. Literature review will be followed by discussion of assessment and a proposal of a model for the assessment of the psychopathology of animal hoarding. The proposal will include a review of psychological testing strategies, including psychodiagnostic tests that may prove helpful in the differential diagnosis and analysis of the psychopathology. Rationale for the selection of the particular tests as well· as the pertinent psychometric information will also be included.
