A taxonomical study of some copepods found in the vicinity of Forest Grove, Oregon

1 June 1951

Since there is a lack of information concerning the classification of fresh-water copepods found in Oregon and adjacent areas in the Pacific Northwest, it is the belief of the writer that a paper of this type is necessary to expand our present knowledge of these fresh-water forms.

It was the purpose of this study (1) to record the descriptions and characteristics of the specimens collected and examined from certain ponds in the vicinity of Forest Grove, Oregon; (2) to present a systematic key for the identification of these specimens; and (3) to list detailed descriptions of certain methods and techniques, employed in this study, dealing with the collecting, identifying, mounting and preserving of the specimens listed in this paper.
