This study was an effort to address a practical problem and make a contribution to process and technique used in service delivery. The outcome of a survey of available literature indicated the absence of an inpatient feedback model for communicating test findings from psychological assessment to the patient. The purpose of this study was to develop a model which included systematic guidelines for offering feedback in a hospital setting. Application of the model to clinical cases illustrated the kinds of issues that arise in this specific situation and offered ways to address them. The model provides a way in which diagnostic information can be obtained, organized and communicated to facilitate the planning of clinical interventions. This model is an example of how meaningful research can be conducted with ongoing and direct experience with clinical phenomena.
