Mental health care for the homeless: A stepped care intervention program

15 April 2005

Homelessness is a transitory state affecting upwards of two million persons in the United States each year. In Cowlitz County, Washington Community House on Broadway (CHOB) is the only shelter that serves the homeless population at the present time. Needs analysis findings demonstrate the necessity of a Stepped Care Program for intervention with homeless clients affected by mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. The development and implementation of a Stepped Care Program for such intervention is the subject of this dissertation.
