Abstract
Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by painful abscesses that can be associated with sinus tracts, fistulae, and scarring in the inguinal, axillary, perianal, and inframammary regions. The relapsing-remitting disease has long-term psychological effects on its patients and negatively affects quality of life. The etiology of the disease is not completely understood and the standard of care, long-term antibiotic courses, are commonly ineffective at treating the disease.
